Our journey began as a scenario that could be described with a clear conscience as a hardship. Tony and I, Nina, had decided to leave our company formation in Dubai and the associated emigration to a professional agency. After all, we were not familiar with the local laws and conditions at that time. But instead of the hoped-for smooth start to our new phase of life, we were suddenly faced with an avalanche of problems.
We were misadvised, financially exploited and in the end many of the promises made to us remained unfulfilled. Even the child visas, which are required to register for the day care centre, did not work as planned. Weeks and months of waiting and uncertainty passed. Overstay fines were incurred. The agency found no solution. The officials in the agencies we asked for help also didn't seem to know what their colleagues were doing or saying before.
Every time we arrived with a previously requested document A, we were confronted with the need for document B and C - information they had never mentioned before. But we did not give up. We kept at it, took matters into our own hands and after long weeks finally solved the problem.
